Mortgage Market Update

click for larger imageThe rate markets are under pressure again this morning. The recent spike in interest rates adds more confirmation to our forecasts that the lows in the interest rates markets are now in place and rates are unlikely to fall to new lows. The recent stampede to the safety of US treasuries became excessive; the run down in rates was mostly in treasuries but mortgage rates benefited as the outlook for the US economy hit new lows in July and August. A lot of concern the US economy would double dip and fall back into text book recession sent investors, both domestic and foreign, to the safety of bonds.  There just isn't much room left for improvement, but a lot of room for rate to go up.  I would Strongly advise capitalzing while you can.

Great News for our Veterans!

VA financing is in my option the BEST home financing on the market today - zero down payment, low interest rate and no monthly mortgage insurance, you simply can’t beat that!  Of course VA financing is reserved for service members and veterans exclusively.  It’s our way of saying “thank you for your incredible service to our country, now let us help you buy a home!”

Let’s face it, there is an overwhelming amount of paperwork required to obtain a VA loan.  You may be digging through boxes in storage for months!  But, I have a bit of good news for Veterans searching for their DD214 (Certificate of Discharge from Active Duty) . . . you can now request this form online quickly, easily and free!!!!

Visit www.vetrecs.archives.gov, fill out the secure online form choosing “Benefits” on #7 and wah-lah, your DD214 will be mailed to your home address.  Now you can relax and cancel your trip to storage after all.  And you can thank me for saving you the trip by referring your friends and family to me for their financing needs!  It’s truly a win-win!
